Things you should know before scheduling your infrared sauna session:
Infrared light is an electromagnetic radiant energy proven scientifically to promote detoxification and healing. The Kempinski Clinic utilizes the only infrared sauna on the market that emits all three wavelengths (near, mid, and far) to promote healing in all tissues, from the skin to deeper organs. Near infrared light will have an effect most superficially, and is great for skin health and those interested cosmetic benefits. Mid penetrates slightly deeper into the muscular tissue, allowing fast recovery and healing for you weekend warriors and exercise enthusiast. Far has the deepest penetrating power, having its benefits on the deeper organs and cells.
The main reason to use an infrared sauna is to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and improve the bodies detoxification pathways. When you sweat in the sauna, you will excrete toxins in the sweat. This is why we provide bamboo towels that promote added absorption. This ensures that more toxins are taken into the towel and less are reabsorbed back into your body.
Who could this benefit?
Seriously, as stated before this sauna can be used for cosmetic benefits, it can be used for athletes or exercise enthusiast who want to recover faster, or, and most importantly, for those who suffer from chronic illness where toxins tend to accumulate in the body and wreak havoc on your healthy tissues. Many chronic diseases have detoxification issues associated with it, especially Lyme disease. Autoimmune, neuro-degenerative, genetic, and inflammatory disorders are all perfect candidates for regular infrared sauna use.
An infrared sauna can be used once daily. It is recommended that the maximum time per session is 40 minutes; however, this changes based on the health of the individual. If you suffer from chronic illness, it may be mandatory to start out slower with a 5-15 minute session. All individuals, sick or not, should consider starting slow to avoid feeling ill post-session. As you get a few sessions under your belt you can begin to increase the time in the sauna. You will notice that sweating will occur easier the more you do it. This is because your detoxification pathways are improving. Do not be alarmed if you do not sweat at all the first few sessions.
Please come to your appointment hydrated, having consumed at least 20 ounces of water prior to your session. Once your session is complete consume another 8 ounces immediately following your session. You can bring water into the sauna; however, it must be in a stainless steel or glass container. No plastic allowed in the sauna.
Frequency of sauna sessions will depend upon your current state of health, as well as, your overall health goals, and this can be discussed with any of the physicians on staff at The Kempinski Clinic.

NormaTec Compression Therapy
Created by a physician bioengineer (MD, PhD) to enhance blood flow and speed recovery, the NormaTec PULSE Massage Pattern employs three key techniques—pulsing, distal release, and gradients—all to maximize your recovery.
HOW IT WORKS: BIOMIMICRY
Instead of using static compression (squeezing) to transport fluid out of the limbs, NormaTec Pulse Technology uses dynamic compression (pulsing).
Our patented pulsing action more effectively mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms, greatly enhancing the movement of fluid and metabolites out of the limbs after an intense workout.
Veins and lymphatic vessels have one-way valves that prevent fluid backflow. Similarly, NormaTec Pulse Technology uses hold pressures to keep fluids from being forced in the wrong direction.
Because of this enhancement, instead of tapering pressure off, the PULSE and PULSE PRO can deliver maximum pressure in every zone.
Because extended static pressure can be detrimental to the body’s normal circulatory flow, Sequential Pulse Technology releases the hold pressures once they are no longer needed to prevent backflow.
By releasing the hold pressure in each zone as soon as possible, each portion of the limb gains maximal rest time without a significant pause between compression cycles.
