Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression/Traction:
Non- surgical spinal decompression is used to rehabilitate disc herniation’s within the spine. When a disc herniates it will protrude backwards applying pressure to the delicate spinal cord and nerve roots. The decompression machine has a slow, intermittent, progressive pull with a vacuum effect causing a negative pressure allowing the disc to be returned to its disc space where it belongs. The intermittent pulling gives the muscles a chance to relax allowing motion within the spine and ultimately more disc return. Compression of the spinal cord and nerve roots must be addressed or else healing will not occur. This device is most commonly used to treat the following: bulging/herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome, and failed back surgeries.
